“They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” Jeremiah 1:19

Beloved ones,

Throughout the world nowadays and around us flourishes the gospel as to which once you come to Christ, you are entitled to quietness, absolute prosperity and rustproof health. No more challenge and sorrow, not even persecution or sickness as long as you are in Christ, such are as many messages that are preached today by many mercenaries of Jesus Christ Gospel. Though they might have been considered as universal truths, such statements are not aligned with Christ’s doctrine. Those messages are not true but please, also understand that we don’t preach the Gospel of sorrow either. We ought to be balanced in the Holy Scriptures.

The Lord made it clear to prophet Jeremiah: “they will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you”. Here, the Lord has not said “they will not fight against you”, they surely will do it but the difference is that they will not overcome you, for the Lord is with you to deliver you. They may, during that fight, destroy part of your riches or your belongings but the Lord will spare your life.

Christ, the winner over the world and darkness, He that has the key of death and hell, once declared to his disciples and even to us today this: “…In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” John 16:33

Tribulations will come, persecution will be at the door, sickness try its way but the most encouraging of all is that the Master has overcome these and, therefore they will have no power over you; you will be more than conqueror.

If you still face difficulties in your daily Christian life, this is not necessarily as a result of sin, but bear in mind this is part of life. Once the tribulations are over, you will be winner. Though suffering might come, they will not kill you.

The Bible declared that “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all” Psalms 34:19.

Therefore be reassured of the continuous presence of God by your sides, even though all might look dark around you; He shall not forsake you; He watches over your life, for your case is different.
